Sherise became a member of the Hunte and Co. team in 2023 and is a dedicated Attorney-at-Law with ten years of experience. She holds professional qualifications that enable her to practice in both the British Virgin Islands and Barbados. Her legal education began at the Office of the Attorney-General in Barbados, under the Department of International Business, Corporate Affairs, and the Intellectual Property Office, as well as the Solicitor General’s Chambers. Before establishing her general practice, Sherise provided advisory services for a consulting firm that specialized in matters concerning the Ministry of International Business, Commerce, and Small Business Development.

This experience has equipped her with a robust understanding of corporate law, contract law, international business, and corporate governance. Consequently, she offers Hunte and Co. valuable insights into legal counsel pertaining to corporate matters. Her expertise encompasses shareholder agreements, equitable mortgages, and the preparation and review of memoranda and articles of association, among various other corporate issues.

In her transition to general practice, she has enhanced her drafting abilities in areas such as conveyancing and estate planning. She has cultivated a substantial passion in research-intensive fields, particularly in personal injury law and contract law and has refined her advocacy skills in litigation across various domains, including civil, family, employment, and criminal law. Her strengths in advocacy are further bolstered by her prior professional experiences, which include her involvement in international conferences and seminars as she has served as a presenter at distinguished Caribbean seminars, notably the 2016 OECS Credit Unions Summit and the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions Conference.

Her drafting capabilities have been instrumental in the implementation of Credit Reporting Legislation for Barbados, where she was a valued member of the Central Bank of Barbados Technical Working Group Committee in 2019. At Hunte and Co., she has successfully revitalized the practice area of court restorations and has played a significant role in strengthening the civil litigation team, which encompasses various domains including contract law, enforcement of judgments, estate administration, judicial reviews, and land matters, to name a few. Her work also includes the meticulous drafting and preparation of personal and shareholder wills, residential and commercial leases, joint venture agreements, and powers of attorney.

Sherise takes pride in her strong commitment to effective communication and exceptional work ethic, consistently delivering through comprehensive legal research, analysis and representation.
